Fighting for democracy

lessons from a protest movement

In the past decade democracy has seen a global deterioration process. With more than 60 expected elections around the globe, 2024 will be a crucial year for citizens to create change and safeguard democracies all around the world.

The Israeli Democracy Protest Movement is one of the largest and most consistent protests in recent global history. The Oral History Democracy Project aims to document and investigate – through interviews with its leaders – how they organized,  what dilemmas and challenges they faced,  and what the key factors to make the protest successful were.

In their current form authoritarian leaders presents a democratic facade to achieve anti-liberal goals.

There is only a short time frame of opportunity to respond and resist before it becomes impossible.

Concentrate on the main mission, and put secondary differences aside whenever they are not acute.
